Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates and have blank pages for entry stamps. Bulgaria and Romania are now part of the Schengen travel area, so time spent there counts toward the Schengen 90-day limit. Moldova also allows visa-free entry for U.S. travelers for up to 90 days.
