Coda Tours will take you to diverse and beautiful Chile to experience the highlights of Atacama Desert, Torres del Paine National Park and Easter Island. Arrive in Santiago and fly directly to San Pedro de Atacama. Our luxury accommodations are at Explora lodge. Discover the lagoons, geysers, salt flats, and more. Then, fly to Punta Arenas for our Patagonian adventure. Head into Torres del Paine National Park for two days of private tours. We are also accommodated at the luxury Explora lodge here as well. Return to Santiago for some sightseeing before returning to the USA or joining the Easter Island extension. The final leg takes us to Easter Island to explore the ancient moai figureheads, volcanoes, and stunning beaches. The Explora lodge hosts us again for this memorable stay. Few travelers have the chance to see all of the amazing places in one trip. It is not to be missed.

Day 1 – Depart USA
Depart the USA on any regularly scheduled flight to Santiago (SCL).

Day 2 – San Pedro de Atacama | Moon Valley
Upon arrival, connect to El Loa Airport and transport to San Pedro de Atacama, the gateway to one of the largest and most arid deserts in the world, the Atacama Desert. Check-in at the hotel and enjoy a refreshing welcome drink. Enjoy lunch before a tour to Moon Valley to view out-of-this-world rock formations like Tres Marías. Visit the salt mantles and Duna Mayor and watch as the desert changes colors with a sunset cocktail overlooking the Valley. Accommodations: Explora Atacama Hotel ★★★★★

Day 3 – Toconao Village | Los Flamencos National Reserve | Yerbas Buenas | Rainbow Valley
This morning we start the in Toconao Village. Then, we venture to Jere Valley to see the true richness of the Toconares, a fertile canyon with a microclimate that allows waters to flow from the mountain range. Then, visit Sector Soncor, Los Flamencos National Reserve. See the flamingos in the Chaxa lagoon before returning to the hotel for lunch. Depart West for Yerbas Buenas to see the perfectly preserved petroglyph carvings in the rock. Day 4 – El Tatio Geysers | Puritama Hot Springs
View the violent jets of the geysers at the geothermal field of El Tatio as they condense in enormous steam fumaroles in the early morning rays of the sun. Breakfast is assembled on site, with a complete outdoor service. Afterwards, relax in the serenity of the Puritama Hot Springs. Return for lunch at the hotel and a free afternoon to visit the Village of San Pedro or enjoy the facilities of the hotel before dinner.Accommodations: Explora Atacama Hotel ★★★★★

Day 5 – Puerto Natales | Torres del Paine
Transfer to Santiago Calama for a 4-hour flight to the port city of Puerto Natales, the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park which is known for its soaring mountains, bright blue icebergs, and golden pampas (grasslands) that shelter rare wildlife. Day 6 – Torres del Paine National Park | Grey Glacier
Enjoy a picturesque day in Torres del Paine National Park with its most iconic sites the three granite towers and the horn shaped peaks. Today, view glaciers, ice floats, and the feathery forest of Nothofagus plants. Try to spot the native deer or a puma. Day 7 – Bernardo O’Higgins National Park | Mount Balmaceda | Serrano Glacier
Sail from port this morning towards Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, through the Señoret Channel, while enjoying a snack. Stop at the Cascada and the Cliffs of Cóndores and continue to the heights of Mount Balmaceda. Disembark in Puerto Toro to begin a guided walk on the banks of the Témpanos lagoon, through a native forest of coigües, ñirres, and ciruelillos. Witness a unique landscape, wild and unspoiled, accompanied by the imposing Serrano Glacier. During our return, savor a delicious appetizer with ice from the glacier. Day 9 & 10 – Vik Vineyard Full Experience
After check-in and a welcome drink, take the time over the next few days to experience all Vik Vineyard has to offer. Day 11 – Orongo Village | Rano Kau Volcano
Transfer by air to Easter Island and check-in to the hotel for lunch. Easter Island is one of the most isolated islands on Earth. Be mesmerized by the enigmatic Moai as you get to know the Rapa Nui culture. Today’s excursion around the island visits the ruins of the ceremonial stone village of Orongo and Rano Kau Volcano. View the ancient hieroglyphs and the internal lagoon where wild fruits and vegetables grow. Sip cocktails as you watch the sun set behind Ahu Tahai, where a beautiful landscape hides secrets of great historical importance. Accommodations: Explora Rapa Nui Hotel ★★★★

Day 12 – Ahu Tongariki | Rano Raraku | Anakena
Before breakfast, visit Ahu Tongariki to watch the sun re-emerge at the largest ahu, sacred ceremonial site, on Easter Island. Its Moai toppled during the island's civil wars and the ahu was swept inland by a tsunami, but it has since been restored. Next, return to the volcano to the crater of Rano Raraku for the most famous and elaborate Moai. Continue to Anakena area for a BBQ lunch by the beach accompanied by a local folk music performance. Day 13 – Motus Navigation | Cave Excursion
Sail to the volcanic caves and the islets of Motu Kao Kao, Motu Iti, and Motu Nui, to learn of the Tangata Manu Competition. Swim back to Rapa Nui and climb the sea cliff of Rano Kau to the village of Orongo. Finally, sail to Tahai to see the ahu and Moai of this important archaeological site. After lunch, visit Ana Tepahu Cave, the largest on the island and an undoubtedly incredible tour for those intrigued by the island’s natural wonders. Afterwards, Ana Te Pora Cave presents a long lava tube containing a large room, believed to be a refuge for ancient peoples in times of war. Accommodations: Explora Rapa Nui Hotel ★★★★★

Purchase souvenirs and mementos from a place that offers the greatest variety and quality of hand-made crafts, Hanga Roa Market. American Airlines and LATAM Airlines are some of the airlines that offer direct flights from Miami (MIA) or New York (JFK) to Santiago (SCL). We recommend booking at least 7 months in advance if you want to use Frequent Flyer Miles or the American Express Platinum card 2-4-1 program. Please request a quote if you would like Coda Tours to assist with international airfare bookings. We often can offer favorable rates for Business or Economy class at a standard fee of $35 per ticket.

Optional Extension to Easter Island

All travelers must be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines and have proof of vaccination that is verified by a medical professional. No other immunizations are required for travel on this tour; however, the Center for Disease Control suggests that all travelers be up to date on routine vaccines, including Varicella (Chickenpox), Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (DTaP), Influenza (Flu), Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR), Polio, and Shingles. It is also recommended that you be up to date on Hepatitis A and B.
A valid passport is required for international travel and must be valid for 6 months after the return date of travel and have two blank pages available per country visited. There is no visa required for this tour for American passport holders.
The weather on this tour will be quite warm during the day but the temperature will drop to be quite cool at night or in certain areas. Please pack and dress accordingly.
All departures are guaranteed on a minimum number of participants. A Coda Tour Manager will accompany a tour also based on a minimum number of participants. This tour can be operated as a Private Tour, can be customized and repriced based on a final itinerary. Rates are based on a minimum participation, if the minimum is not met, rates may need to be revised.
