Portugal's Azores Islands & Madeira with Oporto & Lisbon extension

Portugal At Its Best

The opportunity to visit either Madeira or the Azores Islands is rare. Seeing them both during the same trip is extremely rare. That is why Coda Tours has chosen to combine these two mysterious destinations into one trip. The Madeira Archipelago, located about 350 miles from the northwest coast of Africa and 520 miles southwest of Portugal itself, consists of the main island of Madeira and a smaller one, Porto Santo. The islands have been claimed by Portugal since 1419. Our visit includes the main island of Madeira, best known for its majestic mountains and winding levadas (irrigation canals) as well as its rich cultural offerings in Funchal, the main city (markets, museums, galleries and gardens).
The Azores is an archipelago of nine islands located about 840 miles away from Portugal and 420 miles from Madeira. The main island is Säo Miguel, our destination on this tour, is known for its crater lakes, bubbling hot springs, black sand beaches, and stunning hiking routes. The island is also home to Ponta Delgada, the largest city in the Azores, filled with tasty restaurants and charming cobblestone streets. Each destination is unique and gorgeous.
Continue on to the mainland of Portugal to Oporto, home to Port Wine and a rich medieval history. Travel to Lisbon and tour this exciting city full of wonderful restaurants, bars and shops.
This trip is Portugal at its best!
