Coda Tours introduces an extraordinary itinerary through Merry ‘Ole England, visiting the most famous regions and sites in the country. As you read through this exceptional program, you will recognize place names that have been on your radar for most of your life. Even if you have already been to a few of these beautiful towns and places, you will delight in return to them and seeing even more of the country that spawned our entire society in the USA.

TUE MAY 8, 2018 • Depart USA

Depart the USA on any regularly scheduled flight to London.

Day 2

WED MAY 9 • Arrive London

Arrive at Heathrow Airport. Transfer on your own to the hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure. This evening meet with your guide and the rest of group for a Welcome Dinner. Overnight in London.

Day 3

THU MAY 10 • London | Windsor Castle & Windsor Town | London

englandAfter breakfast, drive to Windsor Castle & Windsor town*, the largest inhabited castle in the world. The tour will include visits to the State Apartments, St George’s Chapel as well as an opportunity to explore the historic town of Windsor itself. Return to London for overnight.
*NOTE: Due to the impending Royal Wedding which will take place at Windsor Castle (date not known as of 12.5.17), our itinerary for this day may be changed.

Day 4

FRI MAY 11 • Windsor to Devon via Stonehenge

englandDepart for Stonehenge the ancient pre-historic monument whose function even to this day is shrouded in mystery. Afterwards continue to Devon. Its rippling, beach filled landscape is studded with historic homes, vibrant cities and wild moors. Check into our hotel.

Day 5

SAT MAY 12 • Devon and Cornwall

englandToday enjoy a full day tour of Devon and Cornwall.

Enjoy a scenic drive via Dartmoor National Park. This is an ancient compelling landscape so different from the rest of Devon that a visit feels like falling straight into Tolkien’s Return of the King.  Continue to the quintessential picture postcard Devon village of Clovelly. Its cottages cascade down cliffs to meet a curving crab claw of a harbor which is lined with lobster pots and set against a deep blue sea. Enjoy free time in Clovelly before returning to your hotel.

Day 6

SUN MAY 13 • Devon to Cheltenham via Bath

englandToday travel to the World Heritage city of Bath, one of England’s most attractive cities. On arrival, there will be a guided walking tour of Bath including the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. Continue to your hotel in Cheltenham.

Day 7

MON MAY 14 • The Cotswolds and Oxford

englandBreakfast at the hotel. Depart Cheltenham through the famous Cotswolds, a rural area of south central England with rolling hills and grassland harbor thatched medieval villages, churches and stately homes built of distinctive local yellow limestone. Arrive Oxford and embark on a walking tour of this ancient university town including a visit to Christchurch. Christchurch is the essential place to visit in Oxford. Two of its famous landmarks, Tom Tower, by Christopher Wren, and Oxford’s Cathedral spire, contribute to the city’s celebrated skyline. Many famous writers and poets are also associated with the college including Lewis Carroll, W.H Auden and John Locke. This afternoon, visit nearby Blenheim Palace, the stately home of the Dukes of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, the magnificent palace was the masterpiece of John Vanbrugh. The extensive grounds were landscaped by ‘Capability Brown’.

Day 8

TUE MAY 15 • Stratford-Upon-Avon to Chester

englandBreakfast at the hotel. Continue this morning to Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. A guided tour will include a visit to the Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s cottage and Trinity Church where Shakespeare is buried. Continue to Chester where on arrival you will enjoy a walking tour. Free time this afternoon to explore the city centre with its unusual arcaded streets known as “the rows”. Rows are continuous half-timbered galleries, reached by steps, which form a second row of shops above those at street level along Watergate Street, Northgate Street, Eastgate Street and Bridge Street. The Rows are unique in the world, and nobody is quite sure why they were built in this way.

Drive to Manchester today for a return flight to the USA.

Coda Tours is happy to book your airfare for you with proper advanced notice. We recommend booking your airfare 7 months in advance if you plan to try to use Frequent Flyer Miles.

Travel Documents

No visas are required to enter the United Kingdom for US or Canadian passport holders.


The Center for Disease Control recommends travelers be up-to-date on routine vaccines including measles-mumps-rubella (MMR), diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis, varicella (chickenpox), and polio vaccine.


All departures are guaranteed on a minimum of 10 participants. A Coda Representative will accompany a tour that has a minimum number of participants. This tour can be operated as a Private Tour and can be customized and repriced based on the final itinerary. For fewer than 10 participants, rates may need to be revised.
